By accessing or using Democracy Direct ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Description of Service
Democracy Direct is a civic accountability SaaS platform providing real-time political data analytics, promise tracking, influence scoring, and organizational reporting tools for politicians in Los Angeles and Seoul. Subscription tiers include Free, Premium ($4.99/mo), Org Starter ($99/mo), Org Pro ($249/mo), and Org Enterprise ($499/mo).
3. User Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. Payments are processed by Paddle (paddle.com), our authorized Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all billing, VAT, and tax compliance. By subscribing, you agree to Paddle's terms of service.
5. Refund Policy
Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time via your account settings. Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase if you are unsatisfied with the service. To request a refund, contact us at support@democracy-direct.org.
6. Data and Content
All political data displayed on the Platform is sourced from publicly available records. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. The Platform is intended for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, political, or financial advice.
7. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Platform to: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) scrape or harvest data without permission; (c) impersonate any person or entity; (d) interfere with the Platform's operation.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and software on the Platform is owned by Democracy Direct or its licensors. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without prior written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Democracy Direct shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of registration, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the operator's registered jurisdiction.
